Ruling a Kingdom of Dust

Marble halls and
Marble walls
Matter not here.
A woman calls
Wrapped in shawls
Hunting survival gear.

She's a tired old bone
On an empty throne
So approaches dusk.
She sets a tone of
Desires full grown
In her kingdom of dust.

Subjects all lost
She knows the cost
Of ruling alone.
She floats across
Her walls of moss
And crumbling stone.

Empty halls and
Barren walls
Are all she can see.
No one calls,
No army falls
On this prairie.

What is this?
I see her lips
Curl in an upward way.
She blows a kiss
To what she's missed
And is happy to say:

I am a fool
For powers that rule;
That fill me with lust.
I think it not cruel
That I rule
In my kingdom of dust.
