High up in the sky

Way up overhead

The moon shown down mighty bright

And this is what she said

I see you looking at me

As does the one you love

You both look to the heavens

While each other you’re dreaming of

I know that I’m a beacon

For you both to gaze upon

Whether dusk or noon or dawn

The miles that separate you

You upon the East Coast

Your love upon the West

An object far up overhead

High up in the sky

Just as far from each of you
